What this site does today
Review statistics are optional and off by default. Browser review events are sent only after you choose to allow them. We use no advertising or external analytics service, and do not save form drafts. Review calculations and answers stay in your browser unless you submit the enquiry form.
Optional website statistics
May we count how the free review is used? We count review starts, results shown, reviews attached and enquiries saved with a review, to improve the tool. Statistics do not include your name, contact details or answers. You can use the review and forms either way.
We remember your choice for 180 days. Change it here or through our privacy policy.
What do we record if you agree?
We count reviews started, results shown, reviews attached to enquiries, and recorded enquiries containing a review. We keep monthly totals by country and website language, and email a monthly summary to that country’s business inbox. Statistics do not include names, contact details, property details or review answers. Restarting the tool may count as another review; these figures are not unique visitor counts.
Cookies and temporary data
The statistics prompt can appear on any page if you have no saved choice for that country, at most once per tab session. To prevent repeat prompts, we use a temporary session-storage flag named hs_statistics_banner_seen, with the value 1. It is shared across all UK and Egypt pages in both languages. The flag contains no identifier or personal information, is not sent to our server, and is used only to prevent repeat prompts. It does not allow statistics. Closing the prompt leaves statistics off; you can make or change your choice using this page’s controls, which remain available through our privacy policy. If session storage is unavailable, the prompt stays hidden and these controls remain available.
Choosing allow or decline sets a preference cookie named hs_statistics_uk for 180 days. It records the choice, consent-text version and choice time, with no unique visitor identifier. The choice applies to this country’s English and Arabic versions; the other country has a separate choice.
After you allow statistics, the review page uses a temporary random token to avoid counting events twice. It is not saved in a cookie or browser storage. The server keeps a derived duplicate-prevention key for up to 24 hours and IP-derived abuse-protection keys for up to one hour. Enquiry duplicate-prevention records are removed when the monthly report is prepared or after 35 days at most. Expired entries are cleared on the next request or the next hourly maintenance run.
Statistics are stored on our OVHcloud hosting account in France. We keep the current month’s totals and 13 completed months; aggregate report copies may remain in our business mailboxes. See the privacy details.
Security logs and page files
Your browser may cache normal page files, images and fonts. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP address, time and the page requested, for security and troubleshooting under its usual deletion schedule. These logs are separate from the statistics reports. We can tell you the current retention period on request.
The postcode check sends your full postcode to Postcodes.io to identify the council. Your building number or name and review answers stay in your browser until you submit the enquiry form.
Messaging us on WhatsApp
Any WhatsApp link on this site is an ordinary link. It sets no cookie and loads no script. Tapping it opens WhatsApp on your own device, and anything you send from there is covered by our privacy policy and by Meta’s own terms.
Fonts
The typefaces on this site are served from our own domain, not from a font service. The font files are hosted here, so an external font service does not receive your IP address when a page loads, and no request leaves this website to fetch them.
Managing cookies yourself
Withdraw permission or change your choice using the buttons above or through our privacy policy. Withdrawal stops future events and does not affect earlier lawful processing. Previous aggregate totals cannot identify your individual events for removal. You can also delete or block the preference cookie in your browser settings; statistics then stay off until you allow them again. The forms do not require statistics consent.
Links to other sites
Where we link out, for example to a booking platform listing, that site sets its own cookies under its own policy. We have no control over those.
If this changes
If we change the purpose of these statistics or add other optional technologies, we will update this page and request fresh consent before using them.
